BSA South African National Blackball Championship set the scene for an epic final between Maahir Daniels and Senzo Gumedi.

Maahir Daniels aka Gums from Western Cape is not new to the scene. He achieved an 8ball Singles Men’s title as well as a multiple Springbok representing South Africa at the world championship. Many regard him as one of the most exiting players to watch playing pool. His got an aggressive and attacking style of play and the ability to pull off the most amazing shots in the toughest of situations. This has earned him his shots to be named the “Gumma” shot.

The title match was not an easy one this year facing the current world champion in the finals, Senzo Gumedi. Gums was very relaxed and composed and managed to take the title in a nail-biting decider against Senzo crowning him the champion. The finals was live streamed on Supersport DSTV channel 210.

Gums will be presenting South Africa at the Blackball World Championship in Bridlington, UK in October 2024.
